5 spindles refer to a computer numerical controlled machine that is able to realize machining processes with 5 spindles. For instance, a five-axis CNC milling machine is composed of an extra axis in the form of a horizontal pivot for the milling head. This results in extra flexibility and very high tolerances. Indeed it used more often for complex contour work.
