Boring is a machining process that consists in enlarging a hole previously drilled, using a single-point cutting tool (borer, drill). It is used to respect quality standards by achieving greater accuracy of the dimensions of the hole thanks to pivotal movements but also to leave a perfect finish by smoothing the interior surface of a cylindrical part.
