Widely applied due to productivity gains, injection is regarded as the prime process for manufacturing plastics parts. It is a fast technique, particularly used for mass-production of high precision identical items. Granular plastic is poured into a barrel and then heated. Once it is melted, the plastic is injected into a cold mold which will solidify the material. This will result in producing the desired end shape.
